Stage confidence

With a background in theatre, it's a happy turn that my career has ended up bringing me back to the stage. With more speaking, less singing these days!

I can say for sure, that presenting is both an art and a science. It takes more than just knowing your content to engage your audience and deliver something memorable. And luckily - it doesn't take years in rehearsals to develop that magic touch.

Whether you're pitching an idea or presenting to a packed room, there are certain techniques you can use, and skills you can develop to make all the difference.

Some of my favorite tips:

🚶 Walk and talk your speech to stop it feeling static or stuck while you practice, or better yet (𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤) run through it in your head while you cycle to work

🤩 Find your cheerleader - some people are naturally smiley and engaged, hone in on them throughout for an encouraging boost

🦄 Embrace your quirks if you mix words up (like me #dyslexic or you're not speaking in your first language, don't let it throw you off your game. Proudly embrace your natural flow - including mistakes. It's more conversational and it makes you human, relatable and therefore easier to connect with.
